Personality
A gentle giant to his core, Eyvald tries to avoid conflict if he can. If push comes to shove, he'll defend himself, but in the end he'd rather avoid confrontation. He'll gladly be a quiet ear for people as well, if someone needs to vent Eyvald will sit and listen. If he is alone, and thinks he is alone, his eyes will often tell his story. Easily showing the pain he has been through and his ears pinned back. Doesn't help that his tail is as expressive as his ears either. A respectful, kindhearted soul, Eyvald will try his best to brighten up other people's days.

History
Eyvald was born in one of the many port cities in Bozja, specifically Martrvje, where he and one of his older sisters, Verine, had been abandoned after getting split up from their family. His older sister had been caring for him and his ailing health, unsure of where their parents went along with their other two siblings. Eyvald was small for his age due to a lingering illness that would come and go but was steadily getting worse as he got older.
Verine had spent all of her free time tending to Eyvald in hopes that he might recover and break free of his illness. The other moments of the day she was working on the docks and in the markets to try and get the gil for medicine and food. When Eyvald was old enough, she started teaching him various forms of survival skills.
Eyvald was 6 when he was taken by a squadron of Garleans that were invading and conquering Bozja and the neighboring countries. The two siblings had been split up with Eyvald being given to Tribunus Atticus tol Sarius. Due to his worsening illness, the squadron of Garleans that had taken Eyvald were unsure on if he was going to survive or not, yet Atticus seemed to think otherwise and had consulted with his brother, Numerian, frequently over Eyvald.
Atticus had taken Eyvald in, keeping him alive not out of kindness or respect but solely for the purpose on if he can survive his sickness or not. A test subject for an unknown illness to the Garleans and one that Numerian could work on and see if he can use it in a form of bio war. If Eyvald can survive, then he will be all the stronger for it and Atticus will take him as his guard. If not, then his dead body will be used in testing by Numerian.
Eyvald had ended up surviving his severe illness and even managed to surpass expectations as he got older and grew taller than what they thought he would've. The illness had been stunting his growth, enough so that he wasn't as big as his siblings, but he was larger than many of the currently conscripted hrothgars. Atticus had been tracking his progress and the work that his brother was doing and upon notice of Eyvald's recovery had started training him as a personal bodyguard. It had been grueling and far harsher than what it should've been. Atticus would always use the excuse that it is due to Eyvald's sickness that he needed to train harder. Along with using his young age to his advantage, as Eyvald couldn't recall his older sister clearly thanks to his illness, to get him to listen and obey orders. The training was often harsh enough that Eyvald had learned how to tend to his own wounds out of necessity, even stitching himself back together if the injuries were bad enough.
Eyvald had also been sent out to crush any opposition, put off as another form of his training that all but drained him to exhaustion, Atticus had forced him to kill any and all that would seek to oppose or break the laws. It was during one of his patrols that he came upon a Hrothgar from another squadron. The two had stopped to talk briefly and eventually kept meeting back up time and again. It was with this Hrothgar that Eyvald had been taught slowly over time on how to use an actual Gunblade and how to properly speak both Bozjan and Dalmascan.
The Hrothgar that had trained him had left years later and Eyvald didn't know what had occurred until he was sent to the Bozja Citadel, or what remained, and saw him amongst the dead. Eyvald had taken a detour on his way back to the Castrum Atticus was stationed at to grab and sneak the gunblade that the dead hrothgar had been using to train him. He kept it carefully hidden away until such a time that it would come in handy.
Eyvald had been put under scrutiny and his life made miserable when one of the few surviving soldiers from the Hrothgar's squadron mentioned in their report of the frequent meetups they had. This having reached Atticus' ears he had Eyvald stripped of his rank and tossed in a cell due to his silence on the matter when asked. Even despite the torture he had been put through to try and get him to break hadn't worked though it was starting to fray at his will with each passing day.
The years he was in prison felt like the longest moment of Eyvald's life, scarring him permanently. The Castrum he was locked in had been attacked by members of the resistance including from those on the inside. The ensuing chaos had allowed Eyvald the chance to escape as the other prisoners within the Castrum broke free of their cells. Atticus had managed to come across Eyvald in all of the chaos and had given him an ultimatum, join him and flee the place or stay and die. Eyvald had snapped then without realizing it, his mind shutting off and going on autopillot, as he killed the Tribunus.
He had escaped with the rest of the prisoners and resistance fighters as the Castrum was burned to the ground, mind numb and still running on autopilot as he had stopped briefly to retrieve the gunblade he had hidden before running. He didn't stay with the resistance, not wanting to have the possibility of getting recaptured and left. He escaped Bozja, a place he barely knew beyond the tainted lenses that the Garleans had placed over his eyes and what they had shown him. A small part of him was reluctant to leave though, especially with the resistance more than willing to have him amongst their ranks.
Eyvald decided against it in the end, having been too worn down over his time growing up conscripted. He didn't want to pick up a blade again so soon even despite the chance of being able to get back at the captors who took his childhood from him. His emotions were far too split though, a large portion of his memories only that of his time growing up under the Tribunus as he fought his illness. Paired with the fact that he doesn't even recall how he left the crumbling Castrum nor how he killed Atticus, Eyvald doesn't trust himself.
He had repressed the entirety of that day and the years he had spent wasting away in that cell, wandering aimlessly and eventually finding himself in Eorzea. His mind always seemed to wander restlessly though as did his hands and so he turned to learning various forms of crafts to keep himself busy and, while he would much rather avoid fighting, had offered his services as a guard.

OOC Info
Hello, I am 18+ and I have been rping for a while but as a heads up, mmo style rping is still relatively new to me. I would prefer that the person I am rping with be 18+ as well. This is a preference of mine and I would appreciate it being respected.
I am alright with all sorts of writing and themes and am more than happy to write dark themes. I am not okay with ERP however and will appreciate it if this is respected.
You do not need to match my length of response, but please try to avoid constant single sentence replies.
IC =/= OOC and know that I have the right to leave the RP at any time. I'll give a heads up if this is the case and I hope that you'll do the same if you ever feel the need to leave.
Lastly, this is all for fun. Don't be rude ooc and please no godmoding. Just respect my boundaries and I'll respect yours!
